9:10 AM KEYNOTE PRESENTATION: Establishing a Strong Clinical Governance Regime to Ensure you have Robust Processes in Place for Greater Quality of Care

The importance and significance of sound Clinical Governance has been identified in successive reviews of both failing and successful health and aged care services. Serious failures identified at the Oakden Nursing Home in South Australia in early 2017 led to its closure later that year. At the same time, consumer expectations in the governance of service provision are growing. This presentation will focus on:

  • How, what and why we should learn from the past and the significance of proactively applying learnings from mistakes in practice
  • Identifying what indicators providers should be using to monitor and maximise performance
  • The role of leaders in creating, nurturing and driving a culture of organisational success
